Photography exhibit displays wonders of Metro Parks

WEST AKRON — Chase the winter blues away by taking in the 10th annual Amateur Photography Exhibit at the F.A. Seiberling Nature Realm Visitors Center.

More than 100 photographs reveal the beauty and complexity of the flora, fauna and man-made systems that define the Metro Parks, Serving Summit County. The exhibit is on display through May.

Pat Rydquist, an interpretive naturalist for the Nature Realm, is the curator and organizer of the exhibit. More than 400 photographs were submitted, she said, but the selection committee sorted out and chose just more than 100 that matched the criteria. All photos had to be taken within the Metro Parks’ boundaries and have the esthetics the group was looking for.
